Ellen Hoffman, Founder
Co-Director and Spiritual Director Chinese American Ellen is Chinese American and lives in the Seattle area with her partner Phil and 3 children. She served in full-time ministry for 20 years and spent the last 8 years as a Spiritual Director + Coach. She is passionate about the intersection of spiritual formation and justice and serves primarily directees that are BIWOC. She loves good dumplings, science-fiction, and super- hero movies. Dr. Jacqueline Bland
Spiritual Director Black Dr. Jacqueline Bland’s career has spanned over the past 38 years mentoring, coaching, and more recently, listening and walking alongside others while assisting them in soul care as a spiritual director. Her passion in developing others has been lived out nationally and globally by empowering others to lead from their authentic selves. As an African American woman she embraces standing on the shoulders of her forefathers and mothers who rendered soul care to others to survive and thrive in the midst of systemic racism that still permeates throughout our nation today.

Spiritual Director Black LeAnn is a Spiritual Director and racial equity facilitator. As a child of the Southern black church, LeAnn engages spiritual companionship as individual and collective, formal and informal, narrative-based, mystic-positive, and oriented toward liberation. Though significant parts of her development as a spiritual director came from informal mentors in faith-based and neighborhood spaces, LeAnn holds a Master’s in Spiritual Direction from Loyola University where she centered her studies on the use of spiritual practice in communities actively working toward equity and liberation. She is committed to amplifying the work that communities and individuals are doing to liberate themselves from oppressive forces and oppressive ways of being. To do this, she creates spaces of exploration, healing, and collaboration. She sings and dances as a way of life and is learning how to grow plants. Spiritual Director Tamil & Malayalee South Indian Rebekah is a Tamil & Malayalee South Indian woman born and raised in Chicago. She spent 13 years living in Sonoma County, California, where she and her husband founded an organic beverage brand. During that time, Rebekah served as a mentor for young women survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking at Crossing the Jordan. She also mentored BIPOC professionals in CPG at Project Potluck. Rebekah is deeply committed to a justice-focused and Queer affirming faith praxis. Vanthong Manivanh
Spiritual Director Lao Van's heart is for inclusion and community as we all seek God together. Van is an ordained pastor with the Free Methodist denomination, and received her spiritual direction training through SoulFormation’s School of Spiritual Direction. Van has worked in a variety of social service settings, including serving with the PeaceCorps in Madagascar, and working in government and nonprofit social service agencies in Seattle. These experiences drew Van toward helping others root their service in a healthy experience of God in order to sustain their work for the long term. She has a heart for social justice, loves travelling and enjoys good food.

Spiritual Director Asian American Sherilyn was born and raised in Hawaii. She is of Japanese, Chinese, Hawaiian, and Filipino descent. Her and her husband ministered for 8 years in Paraguay where they adopted their two kids. She currently lives in Portland, Oregon and provides spiritual direction and formation for Women of Color across the country. In her 24 years of ministry with BIPOC both in the U.S. and overseas, her passion is helping BIWOC experience God as the One who sees, hears, deeply loves, and empowers them to be. Her desire is to come alongside BIWOC on their journey, to listen to their stories, to be a witness of who they are for God, and to witness who God is for them. She loves eating good food with good friends, watching movies with family, going to the beach in Hawaii, having plants in her living spaces, and hosting friends and family in her home. Ann Sakaguchi
Spiritual Director Japanese American Ann is a third-generation Japanese American spiritual director. She has over 19 years of experience in full-time ministry and has now shifted her focus to helping people to deepen their relationships with the One who loves us. All of us are beloved of God. It is her desire for all people, especially women of color, to come to experience this grace and to live a life of true freedom as they are. She loves sharing a good meal with family and friends, being on the beach in Hawaii and a good spy novel. |
Hailey Mitsui
Spiritual Director Mixed-Race Japanese American Hailey Mitsui (she/her) is a Spiritual Director and Embodiment Coach. She works with individuals, groups and communities at the intersection of spirituality, identity, justice and healing.
In addition to Christian contemplative practices, Hailey incorporates embodiment work and ancestral healing into her spiritual direction sessions. Her desire is to create a sacred space for questioning, anger, grief, joy, reassurance and exploration for women of color. Hailey is based on Duwamish land (also known as Seattle, WA). Spiritual Director Latina Dr. Rose Madrid Swetman is a pastor, coach, spiritual director, speaker, leadership trainer, workshop facilitator, retreat guide, and consultant. She has 30+ years of experience leading churches, groups, and individuals through spiritual formation and organizational health. Her focus is on the holistic healing of individuals, relationships, and systems. Rose and her husband, Rich, live in Edmonds, Washington.
